Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, the founder of Futurism, appears as a bust in an open valise to answer our questions. The project is a post-modern multimedia portrait in which the subject literally comes to life. Marinetti, reconstructed as a 3D model and chatbot, carries on conversations with visitors in real time. His computer-synthesized voice reproduces that of the leader of Futurism. The chatbot of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti is equipped with artificial intelligence, which allows him to have a dialog with humans and to display an emotional state appropriate for any given conversation. The answers to the visitors' questions are based on Marinetti’s original writings, transcribed and archived as part of the software. The project exists in several versions: a web version (http://www.marinettiallaquarta.it), a robot, and a sculpture—the valise presented in the Biennale.
