Interactive video, 2005–2006

The visual surface of the work is torn into 6 segments filmed in the same location but in
different time-periods. The image-sequences have different time intervals; their playback is
looped, but can be stopped and started again. The graphic wave, moving across the 6 sections,
evokes the measurability of the changing images. The breaking of the wave is marked by
moving dots that correspond to the pick-up heads of the 6 image zones. By
diagramming the fluctuation, the wave becomes the surface of the reorganized interconnections. It is a fluid entity, determinated by the picture, and at the same time it determines the picture itself. Visual coordinates, stripes, and zones create a rhythmical collective in this diagrammatic wave.
