ReMixing City
3-channel video installation, colour, stereo, loop, 2004–2009

Positioned in the center of a triptych, the video Amniotic City, which the duo of artists created in 2004, functions as the pivot point of ReMixing City, a new, site-specific installation for the Quadrilateral Biennial. The other two videos depict a mix of images and video excerpts from Elastic’s past works, selected from the ones that best represent recurrent themes in their research—metaphors of the continuous becoming of the video language, the state of continuous change that characterizes the information era, and its relation with its “inhabitants”. In the triptych, different "streets" intersect with each other and the gallery space: the amniotic city and the chaotic flux of economic data, the technology of image transmission, words, statistics, immigrant flux, layers in movement.
